Sketch books

Posted by

This term, across the school, we have launched the idea of the children creating their own sketch books to use during art sessions. Before Christmas each child selected from a range of papers and learnt how to bind their own personal sketchbook using a range of different binding techniques. Today I had the pleasure of looking through a range of these sketchbooks from across the school (Yr1-6!) and have been really excited by what I have found! Some of the sketchbooks have been beautifully personalised to give the children real pride and respect for the work that they wil put in them. Others contain an array of drawing skills and techniques that link with the current topics the children are follow. Some of them are being used  to provide the children with a place to mark make and doodle in ‘down time’, to collect and explore thoughts and ideas. We definitely have some budding artists!
